Medical starvation is also called a method of unloading-dietary therapy. And though both names reflect the same process and have the right to existence, the last one, in opinion of many authors, is more preferable.

The method of medical starvation is used to treat many diseases: cardiovascular, gastroenteric, joints, bodies of breath, allergic, adiposity, diabetes of 2^nd type, functional infringements of nervous system, skin diseases, some mental frustration and etc.

This method is based on the ability of the person, inherited from his ancestors, to survive in quite long periods of starvation.

Adherents of consider it a general health-improving method directed to mobilization of protective forces of an organism. Unloading-dietary therapy makes an organism activate reserve forces and direct them to normalization of metabolism, improvement of digestion and blood circulation, and also on clarification of an organism from end-products of metabolism.

Period of full starvation can vary from short-term (1-3 days) to long-term (up to 40-50 days).

Vast majority of people suffer from pollution of organism. That fact could be designated as epidemic of "endoecological illnesses" which clinical forms are expressed in various diseases. Moreover, the effect of pollution of extracellular space can appear a real mechanism of extinction of mankind.
